Engineered flooring

Engineered flooring comes in a variety of widths, colors, and textures. It’s constructed of multiple layers of plywood glued together perpendicularly, with (depending on the manufacturer) approximately a 1/8 inch solid wood top layer (wear layer). In contrast to solid wood plank, without additional in depth job site preparation, engineered flooring is less likely to undergo seasonal expansion and contraction as temperatures and humidity levels fluctuate throughout the year because it is more stable. Engineered flooring is also a great option if you are installing over in floor heat and you are looking for a wide plank floor above 5” in width (hickory and maple not applicable). Available in prefinished and unfinished.
